Every Man City player ranked by their 2024-25 wages (highest to lowest)

Manchester City are known for their ties to the Middle East, with Sheikh Mansour’s Abu Dhabi United Group (ADUG) owning the majority of the Club after buying 90 per cent from Thaksin Shinawatra back in 2008.

As one of the biggest wage spenders in the Premier League, the Citizens currently have a whopping annual payroll of £201,864,000, with the average player earning around £149,308 per week. In the Manchester City squad there is one player who earns £400,000 per week, three who earn above £300,000 per week and four who earn above £200,000 per week, which is rather astonishing.

With that being said, we at Football FanCast have ranked every Manchester City player in the first-team squad in order from highest to lowest in terms of wages for the 2024-25 season, with the help of Capology.

Disclaimer – only the Club and the players themselves truly know their wages, so take each of these figures as you will.

10

Manuel Akanji

£180,000 per week

Manuel-Akanji-Man-City

Manuel Akanji was brought to the Etihad in 2022 from Borussia Dortmund, and it has proven to be an astute piece of business. Capable of playing as a centre-back, left-back or even as a holding midfielder at times, the Switzerland international has been a mainstay under Guardiola in recent years.

Fellow defender Ruben Dias also picks up £180,000 per week alongside Akanji.

9

Josko Gvardiol

£200,000 per week

Josko Gvardiol is one of nine City stars who collect £200,000 per week or more, with the Croatia international signing from RB Leipzig in 2023.

Similar to Akanji, Gvardiol has proven his versatility by starring at centre-back and left-back and scored some important goals during his first campaign to help City to a fourth Premier League title in a row.

8

Rodri

£220,000 per week

You could argue that defensive midfielder Rodri should be higher up on this list as he is one of, if not, the most influential Man City player. The Spaniard has starred in recent seasons and even scored the winning goal in the Club‘s historic Champions League final win over Inter Milan.

He’s likely to miss the rest of the 2024/25 season through injury, though.

7

Phil Foden

£225,000 per week

Academy graduate and boyhood Blue, Phil Foden signed his most recent City contract back in 2022 where he picks up a reported £225,000 per week.

The England international has quite the trophy haul at the age of 24 and who knows, he could look to stay at the Etihad for his entire career.

6

Ilkay Gundogan

£230,000 per week

Gundogan-1

Ilkay Gundogan returned to the Club just 12 months after leaving for Barcelona. The La Liga giants were happy to allow City to sign the German on a free transfer, which resulted in Gundogan being given a healthy £230,000 per week.

He was a key member under Guardiola during his seven-year stay and will be looking to win more silverware in Sky Blue.

5

John Stones

£250,000 per week

John Stones is under contract until 2026, and should he remain at the Club until then, will hit his 10th anniversary after joining from Everton back in 2016.

The centre-back has won it all with City and has made more than 250 appearances in all comeptitions during that time.

4

Jack Grealish

£300,000 per week

Manchester City's Jack Grealish

Jack Grealish is Manchester City’s most expensive signing of all time after arriving from Aston Villa in 2021.

He took Sergio Aguero’s famous No.10 shirt but has struggled to live up to expectations at times in a City shirt. He’s still under contract until 2027, though.

3

Bernardo Silva

£300,000 per week

Arguably one of Man City’s most underrated players during this golden era under Guardiola is Bernardo Silva. The Portuguese midfielder’s tireless running and quality on the ball has seen him become a mainstay after arriving from Monaco in 2017.

He still has just under two years remaining on his deal.

2

Erling Haaland

£375,000 per week

Haaland-1

Goal machine Erling Haaland already has 100 goals in a Man City shirt and has only been with the Club since 2022 after leaving Borussia Dortmund.

The Norway superstar could go on and break plenty more records in a Sky Blue shirt, as his contract runs until 2027.

1

Kevin de Bruyne

£400,000 per week

Top of the charts is attacking midfielder Kevin de Bruyne, who earns a staggering £400,000 per week at the Etihad and has done so since penning new terms in 2021.

This contract expires in 2025, though, and with rumours of a move to Saudi Arabia, the Belgian’s days in Manchester could soon come to an end.
