RAW featured brawls from participants from both WarGames contests. The men’s match opened and closed the show, with the Vision winning the advantage for this weekend.

Dominik Mysterio took his frustrations out on a replacement John Cena, while Rey Mysterio defeated his Judgment Day brother, JD McDonagh.

The Last Time is Now Tournament saw Gunther advance past Carmelo Hayes. Solo Sikoa won by match stoppage over Penta. Stephanie Vaquer had a stern warning for Nikki Bella.

Several challengers taunted the new Women’s Intercontinental Champion, Maxxine Dupri. With a few days until Survivor Series: WarGames, WWE made the next four mistakes on RAW.

#4. A simple promo for one of the four matches at WarGames

WarGames consists of only four bouts. Both non-cage matches involve titles. John Cena didn’t show up, letting Dominik Mysterio carry the torch for the final appearance before they tangle this weekend.

Nikki Bella blindsided Stephanie Vaquer last week. This week, La Primera simply cut a pre-taped promo warning Bella that she made a mistake by turning on her.

If a title is being defended at a PLE, the champion needs to be present live. A pre-taped promo isn’t enough, especially considering Bella didn’t show up.

#3. A booking error for John Cena

Since WWE used John Cena’s final appearance on RAW last week because it was at Madison Square Garden, he didn’t appear on the go-home episode to promote his match.

A little person filled in instead, allowing Dirty Dom to get the upper hand ahead of WarGames. Cena could have saved his fill-in, but instead, it was Rey Mysterio.

Officials should have added the final episode before the PLE to his schedule or done something different last week. Not having a champion appear live before a title defense at a PLE is a misfire.

#2. RAW has a Rey Mysterio match instead of a women’s contest

SmackDown had the same issue with a women’s match last week. RAW followed suit by having four matches without one dedicated to female members of the roster.

This isn’t to say the women weren’t featured, but they didn’t wrestle on a wrestling show. Ivy Nile and Roxanne Perez confronted Dupri. The women’s WarGames match had time for a brawl.

Stephanie Vaquer put Nikki Bella on notice. Rey Mysterio predictably defeated McDonagh instead of having someone like Bayley, Perez, Rodriguez, Nile, or another woman competing.

#1. Roman Reigns and his feelings about WarGames

Earlier in the night, Roman Reigns claimed he’d been battling the Vision longer than Rhodes, and he’s right. He mentioned he came back because of his family. When it came time to test that in the main event, he fell a bit off the mark.

Rhodes and Punk came out to offset the Vision while the advantage match still took place. It levelled the playing field, but for someone who claims to care so much about his family, he didn’t show up until after Logan Paul pinned Jimmy.

The pacing was clearly to set up the final brawl with Lesnar coming out last. If he cared so much about his cousins, he would have been out with The Best in the World and The American Nightmare. He also seemed more interested in titles.
